If you are saying there’s no other tourist attraction like the Singapore Flyer in the region, then its considered quite a good attraction for tourists to come and see the regional sights. No matter what others say about Singapore copying the idea from London …

of course the Singapore Flyer (target opening date: 14 Feb 2008) is a great up and coming attraction. it’s about time we add a few more world class attractions in Singapore (the last being the Singapore Zoological Gardens and the Night Safari).

and it’s not fair for others to say that the Singapore Flyer is merely a copy of the London Eye.

Firstly, the Singapore Flyer (at 165m) is going to be 30m higher than the London Eye (at 135m).

Secondly, there are plenty of other ferris wheels around. The Great Beijing Wheel (at 208m) is going to be the tallest of the lot come 2008 (for the Beijing 2008 Olympics).

Only thing about the Singapore Flyer is it’s pretty pricey (adults ticket can range between S$29.50 to S$69.00. but i believe it’s still worth a visit.

i’m booking my tickets now! :p

What fascinates me about it is the spokes are wire! Not rigid like on a bicycle or other Ferris wheels. That tremendously lightened the structure making it cheaper to build and easier to operate. Brilliant I’ve never seen anything like it.

It’s for Singaporean meh? So expensive. Don’t think the average Singaporeans will ever pay $30 to side on a big ferris wheel. Ok lah, maybe just once but no more than that.
